SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) and the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) urge the public to consider current air quality safety and preparation this week, in response to wildfires in several communities. The Hermit's Peak Fire, McBride Fire, Nogal Canyon Fire, and Big Hole Fire have forced evacuations and created smoke-induced air quality concerns.

Congresswoman Leger Fernandez is interested in organizing a Youth Advisory Council for the district.

Community, parents, students, and staff members, we are excited to be able to share our Full In-Person Learning Guidelines for Las Vegas City Schools for the 2021-2022 school year. Our students are our focus as they are our most precious resource. This plan puts their safety as our top consideration, followed closely by the assurance that they are able to obtain an excellent education.
