Principal Vasquez
Introduction Letter from the MMS Principal 2025/2026:
Hello Mr. Vasquez or Coach Vasquez here, I am originally from Texas where I was born and raised. I am a first-generation college graduate who played Division I collegiate baseball at multiple universities and began my coaching career at the college level in California. I later returned to Texas to start my public education journey as an alternative education teacher, while also coaching at the middle school and high school varsity level. Throughout my career, I have coached varsity football, basketball, baseball, track, and strength & conditioning across several Texas communities-ranging from 2A to 6A-including La Villa, McAllen, San Antonio, and El Paso. In the classroom, I have taught social studies, credit recovery, and physical education at both the middle and high school levels. I have also served as a department coordinator and athletic coordinator, with over 12 years of experience in administration. My coaching and teaching philosophy centers on discipline, effort, and building meaningful relationships. After relocating to New Mexico, I joined Mora Schools, where I served as Athletic Director, teacher, Title IX Coordinator, substitute bus driver, and elementary principal. These diverse responsibilities helped shape my leadership style and gave me a broader understanding of school operations and student needs. I am excited to be a Cardinal with Las Vegas City Schools and look forward to beginning my 18th year, continuing to serve teachers, counselors, staff, students, athletes, activity members, and the greater school community with passion and purpose.
